Ben is quickly recovering his physical health. His mental and emotional status continues to erode. This situation is made much worse when the television ordered by Abbie is delivered. In Chapter Two Ben becomes aware of the unique features of the television. Emily and Martha continue to be supportive but Ben’s ultimate worry relates to the possibility that he has lost his job.
