Camerawork in Muvizu, Keyframing Action Scenes

June 2, 2025 by Liz Myers Leave a Comment

This video is all about keyframing. We use keyframes to tell the camera where to be and when to be there. Keyframes also tell the camera how to compose the image at the moment of the keyframe. First, we set-up our character’s actions and movements. Then we keyframe camera movement. At each keyframe we have the option to set camera motion as stepped, linear or auto. In auto mode, camera speed is set by the time distance to the next keyframe. The camera will take all the time allotted to travel to the next keyframe. Set-up each keyframe as if it were a still shot. Consider composition and what elements, such as characters, actions, scene elements, props, need to be in the scene to tell the story. That way you’ll assure that the video will convey its story all along the timeline Four options to fix problems with your set-up:

1. Trash the set you’ve just made and start again. But, consider that it was not a waste of time in light of what you learned

2. Render the video as-is and then pull out the good parts you can use

3. Move keyframes left or right along the timeline to fix problems

4. Redo or add keyframes to fix problems
